Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a reporter in 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her get her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. In St. Petersburg, she was then employed as a reporter by the CBS station to work as the sports reporter. Then she moved to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she worked as an anchor for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of news at 9 p.m. newscast in English as well as another reporter for the at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. She is older than her sister. In 1992, the family moved to Miami after relocating to Mexico to the US. She divorced her parents shortly thereafter and, in the year 1995, she got married to an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. It was during a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta was the senior of her high school and had a clear idea of her career goals. She visited Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. It was an amazing campus. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. She completed her schooling and was accepted into the University for a master's degree studying media and communication studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU in which she's a member. They had a very close friendship. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence inspired her. In turn, she was determined to achieve his standards and not fail him.
